HOW TO USE SOCIAL MEDIA TO STAY CONNECTED WITH YOUR CUSTOMERS AND INCREASE YOUR BUSINESS REVENUE!

Personal interaction may be the A to Z of interpersonal communication, but nowadays we have more tools that help us stay in touch with our customers and give us the opportunity to increase our revenue.

A typical example is that a customer may not have the chance to visit your shop every day, but they can certainly stay informed about everything quickly and easily through your business profile on Facebook, Instagram, or any other platform where your audience is active. This can very likely lead to a potential sale.

Facebook is the most popular social networking platform worldwide — and it also owns Instagram. More than 5 million Greeks are active users. So, when the question arises, “Why should I create a business page on Facebook?”, the answer is simple: Because that’s where the consumers are!

By creating a proper professional profile on social media, a business can immediately connect with potential customers to grow its clientele, while also maintaining contact with existing ones. It can share updates about new products or about what has just come out of the oven! It also has the ability to announce new additions to its baked goods — for example, a high-nutritional-value bread or a delicious dessert.

Beyond product-related information, building a relationship of trust between a business and its customers can also include sharing details such as the safety and hygiene measures it follows, sending holiday greetings, and — most importantly — being available to the customer by answering questions or providing useful information through direct messaging.

TIPS FOR CREATING AND MANAGING A PROPER PROFESSIONAL SOCIAL MEDIA PAGE

Choosing the right platform: Where is your audience active? On Facebook or Instagram? Or on both? This is very important information when selecting the right medium for your presence. Extra tip: Research shows that Instagram attracts younger audiences compared to Facebook!

Posting frequency: Ideally, you should post on a daily basis. The more posts you publish, the more often your content appears in consumers’ newsfeeds — meaning more people will come into contact with your business.

Useful and engaging posts: Followers give reactions such as likes, shares, and comments when they see information that interests them and is useful. So, pay very close attention to the content of your posts. Extra tip: Photos and videos capture far more consumer attention than plain text! After all, who can resist a warm loaf of bread fresh out of the oven?

Targeted advertising: Social media allows business pages to run targeted ads that are also much cheaper than any other medium. You can choose to advertise to consumers with specific demographic characteristics and interests — information they have entered themselves on social media platforms. Just imagine how effective an ad would be when shown to an audience that has expressed interest in healthy eating — and you promote your new high-nutritional-value bread!

SOS Tip: On your page, the ideal content ratio is 30% promotional content (products, offers, etc.) and 70% informative and useful content related to your business.

Today, the presence of small and large businesses on social media is considered an investment and a key factor in their growth. Perhaps this is the right moment for you as well? If so, don’t worry — there are many professionals available who can help you take your business one, or rather many, steps forward.
Good luck!
